you need a special fetzer valve to sync the radial waves comming off the tires

As others said, not enough info as in exactly the problem (is it a no-start or the fact that the RPM gauge don't work on the dash board) as well as engine size etc.
The guage on the dash was sometimes known for going out on the gas motors.. also you may have lost a signal going to it (I think it comes from either the module or the engine computer but not 100% sure right now)
On the diesels, the tach sensor was known for going out and had a habit of not reading until you tach the engine up pretty good...

Don't have the faintence ideal what you want. But,
Get a Haynes Repair Manual at the local Auto Zone or auto parts store in your area. It will troubleshoot and show you how to fix your vehicle. Also on the Auto Zone site has a section for vehicle maintenance
