Wow! I went through the EXACT same dilemma and worry for my wedding last year...(thought I was the only one)
I nearly went crazy figuring out what to do because I'm not thrilled with my arms and didn't want to show them... My dress was also a beaded bodice and 'ballgowny'. While I had the dress on the seamstress showed how bad the dress would look with sleeves (we tried different fabrics because I was determined).
She convinced me that no one will look at my arms, they'll look at my hair, makeup and dress.
Dozens of former brides told me how glad I'll be without sleeves because the dress in combination with nervousness will make you very warm and to have your arms "naked" will be a relief....and it was!
I also didn't see myself as a bride doing the veil thing either... We found one that wasn't too shabby for me...
This worked out because I wore the veil that covered my arms and didn't look like I wanted to hide anything.
For me I didn't want sleeveless or a veil and I ended up with both and you know what? It really looked nice.
Maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised too.
Just keep in mind... do you want to be a sweaty, uncomfortable bride or a cool, slightly self-conscious one enjoying herself!?
Good luck and happy marriage!
P.S.
I'm a penny pincher so I didn't see it frugal to buy more stuff (wrap or a jacket) to wear for 2 hours and never again.
Just ask blunt and honest friends if your arms will be noticed.
Take care, and don't worry so much... I speak from that insane bride experience.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding. I would leave the sleeves, I am having my dress custom made and the top part of my dress is similar to yours (with the V part at the waist). I am definitely a fan of old fashioned and traditional things. My family often cites that I was born in the wrong century. Anyhow the sleeves look pretty my sleeves are similar to yours except they are stretch tulle and go down to my wrists into a bell shape. You can minus the sleeves but I think the dress looks lovely. Don't worry so much about what the stores or the fashion magazines advertise, if you like old fashioned dresses, then go for it. Your wedding pictures will look unique to those of this decade. If you do minute the sleeves and do the off the shoulder sleeves, you can wear long gloves and a dramatic choker which would also look amazing.

I agree with the idea of a jacket. A reputable dressmaker can make one so it looks like part of the dress. And you have the versatility to wear with or without. Some churches don't allow bridal dresses to be strapless or sleeveless.

Check out several bridal stores - you should be able to find a shawl. If not, locate a dressmaker to make one (they are simple and straightforward so would not take much time).
Only other thing I can think of is finding a totall sheer lace blouse and having a dressmaker somehow design something using that.
Mine is strapless and I'm getting married in 2 weeks when it's still very cold so I'm using a shawl.

i ordered a strapless/sleeveless gown. i am not comfortable with wearing those kinds of dresses so i'll probably get a close friends of ours to add the sleeves. i went to this store where i ordered my gown, and they're charging me $500+ just for adding the sleeves on. so i'll just get my friend to do it for me. if you're not comfortable with wearing a sleeveless or strapless gown, you can alwaya get a shoal or just add sleeves. get an advice from a professional or experienced seamstress. i always thought that im the only person who is uncomfortable with wearing strapless gowns or dresses. anyways, goodluck! im sure you'll look good and beautiful! im excited for you!

ABSOLUTELY! www.davidsbridal.com and they give you an option for sleeve adders. They look like they were really attached to the dress in the first place and they have 8 different kinds to insure one for your dress. Congrats!!

Why don't you see if you can find a bolero jacket similar to this that will look good with your dress? Beaded or sheer. That way you can wear the dress both ways.

I DID THE EXACT SAME THING. AS LONG AS ITS BEADED YOU CAN MAKE IT LOOK LIKE IT WAS ORIGINALLY MADE THAT WAY. THE BEADING CAN HIDE THE SEAM WHERE THEY ADDED THE SLEEVES. I WAS REALLY WORRIED TOO AND MINE TURNED OUT GREAT!!! BE SURE TO FIND A GOOD SEAMSTRESS WITH GOOD REFERALS!

Maybe someone can make you a small bolero jacket out of lace or a similar fabric. They call them "church coats"
