1 Timothy 3:15 (KJV)
But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how though oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of truth.

Sure Eryn, I am quoting the King James because some people won't recognize another translation as legitimate even though we all know that the Bible was not written originally in English. here:I should also include
"If I am delayed that you may know how to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth." this is Paul's explanation for why he wrote this.

Excuse my lack of clarity in the added details. This Paul's explanation for writing this whole letter to Timothy.

The Church is just as or more important than the Bible because it belongs to God. That is the meaning of Timothy 3,15.

Christ is head of the Church in Ephesians 1,22; 5,23.

The Church was also purchased by the blood of Christ in Acts 20,28; Ephesians 5,25; Hebrews 9,12.

Sanctified and cleansed by Christ. 1 Corinthians 6,11; Ephesians 5,26-27.

The Church Jesus Christ founded displays the wisdom of God. Ephesians 3,10

It is clothed in righteousness and not to be despised. Revelation 19,8; 1 Corinthians 11,22.

Grace and peace!

You are quoting out of context, which is not a good idea at the best of times.
Paul is writing to Timothy, and he says -
v.14 Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that,
v.15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
Never quote out of context otherwise you will lose the true meaning of the text. Where is it stated, as a matter of interest, that the Bible is more important than the Church? Or, for that matter, that the Church is more important than the Bible? They complement each other - the Bible is used for teaching in the Church, and a Church without a Bible is of no use. Go well, and God Bless!

you have taken that verse completely out of context. i thought you was going to quote a verse in Acts. Then I would have been able to compromise with you! In 1 timothy, Paul was writng a letter to Timothy telling him how to conduct in church. It has nothing to do with the importance of church. Now, you could argue that in Corinthians, Christians is considered to make up the body of the church if that helps you!

you can't join the true church of GOD. you are borned into it. the spirit of christ and anti-christ are so close that it would deceive the very elect if possible but it isn't. they are twins but the spirit of anti-christ in the cold formal church organizations always persecute or kill the true borned again believer that is part if the mystical body of christ that won't bow down to the false doctrine or dogmas born out of the false cold formal churches.

Wel, that can't be true, because the Word of God was an oral tradition for years before it was written

sorry that makes no sense to me either. the church is made up of the people of God those who know him and have given their life to Jesus.

Where did this come from?
Is this a question?

The Chruch is built on the Bible or it would not be a Christian church.
I really don't know what you are trying to say.
