Okay, this is kind of a long story. I have had a pretty good boyfriend for a little over 16 months now, and it's been good but we've had some so-so times in the relationship. Yesterday, I had been texting a guy from school that had been an on-off crush all year. He called me later that night while he had some two friends over and we talked for hours. I found out (from himself) that he liked me! But he is really good friends with my boyfriend, and we both know that cheating is wrong. The problem is that my guy is out of town, so I won't be able to talk to him until the end of the week, so there's no way that we could go out before then even though we want to. The "new guy" invited me over to a friend's house tomorrow for his birthday (he's having people over) and he said it would be "couples night." I'm still wondering though if this is the best idea, because it's been a while with my boyfriend and I don't know if this is a good thing to end it over. What should I do? Who should I date?

You should definitley date your old boyfriend. If his best friend is willing to hurt him by trying to steal his girlfriend while he's out of town, then he isn't a trustworthy person, and might not be great in a relationship. In the end, your old boyfriend would feel hurt, and hate both of you, when really the untrustworthy one is the best friend.
No, I don't think that you should go to the party. If the best friend called it "couples night" then he might consider you his partner for that evening. You would get yourself into another love triange situation, and someone would end up hurt in the end.

Don't get yourself into a bad situation that you'll regret by going to the new guys party. It may seem exciting, new and tempting, but think about the consequences of what will happen if you go! I've made foolish mistakes in my past, usually because I've acted without thinking. The fact that you have asked on here means that you want to think it through first, so please do that, and do it carefully.

Until you are not going out with anyone else you should not consider anything with someone else. If things aren't working with your current boyfriend, then you need to end things there first (in person, not over the phone). If you don't then you give yourself a bad reputation and hurt other peoples feelings. Think through who you really want to date, not who is more fun on that particular day. This new guy doesn't sound that great if he's trying to hit on his mates girl! My advice: STEER CLEAR!
