I am wanting to try this for three weeks and see what happens. I have been lifting weights for a couple of months now and was just wanting to try something different. I was wanting to run alot and get in really good shape and then start lifting....is this a good idea or not?

Good for you, the running is fantastic 5 days a week! The running will cause you to lose weight (fat) provided that you aren't taking in too many calories. Is there a way that you could run, then do a few weights daily? If you've been lifting for several months you don't want to lose what you've gained in this area, and you will because weight training and running are very different. Why not combine the two, and see more benefits sooner?
If you're eating healthy 3 shakes a day is too many. Fact is we here in the US get way more than enough protein in our foods, watch your caloric intake. It sounds like you may be taking in too many with 3 shakes and 3 meals too. I'd say eat your meals and cut back to 1 shake a day, you don't even really need this unless you just want to have it. Go to your search engine and type in "protein-how much do I need daily" and you can get the answer you need for this.......Good job, keep up the good work!

Make sure to continue to do some light weight lifting, at least. Whenever you lose weight, you will ALWAYS lose some muscle. To prevent losing too much, you needa get a lot of protein and still work your muscles out a bit.

Luckily you body has muscle memory.. so if you do lose some muscle, it's not as hard to put it back on quickly.

But, yeh, that sounds like a good plan to me. Running is probably the best way to burn fat. Good luck.

Bad idea. 3 protein shakes is not enough calories/nutrients and so you will LOSE weight, definitely most of it being muscle since you won't be lifting, only doing cardio which also burns muscle if done improperly.

Is it much better to eat whole, healthy foods in moderation whith a combination of weights/cardio. That way you can build some muscle/tone up

I'm not sure you can get enough of the nutrients, vitamins, and things like fiber that you need with an all shake all the time diet. Why not just stick to one shake a day and eat a proper amount of fruits, vegetables, and lean protein.
