Call your insurance company tomorrow. They will be able to give your unsurance numbers to you and then you can give them to your doctor.

Alternatively, give them a call to make sure your insurance is active. If it is, give your doctor a call and see if they will be able to call the insurance company and see for themselves that you are insured and that your insurance will cover the appointment.

One other option is to go to the appointment and let the doctor bill you (if they are willing). You can then submit the bill to your insurance company and they will cover it, more than likely.

Whatever option you choose, I would call the insurance company to make sure the insurance is active before you go to the appointment.

(A side-note: with our insurnace company, we can go the web-site and print out a temporary ID card. You could see if your insurance company has this feature on their website.)

Good luck!

Call your insurance agency and let them know of your predicament. Have the doctor's office FAX and phone numbers on hand. Maybe they can pre FAX the info to them before your visit. You shouldn't have made the appt before having the card- how do you know that the doctor you are seeing is approved by your health plan? If you are not approved to see that provider, you will have to pay the bill yourself. You may need to cancel and reschedule once you know more. If need be, and you have an emergency, you can always go to the ER.
Best of luck to you- hope you are on the road to recovery.

Depending on the new insurance company, you can go to their website, sign in (sign up) and download an insurance card. (You can also verify your coverage and your childs) If you can't download a card but can confirm coverage, print that page and bring it to the dr. Most will accept that as proof until the actual card is received.

They might mark you down as self pay, but when you get your insurance card you just present it and they'll go back and bill the insurance company for any previous visits that were covered under the policy.

As long as you are enrolled, just tell the receptionist who your carrier is and they can process it. They will understand. They have to call the company to verify and process anyway. You can submit your card at the next visit.

Is your new insurance active?

If so, you should be able to call them tomorrow and ask them to fax you (or your doctor) confirmation of an active policy/coverage, or a copy of your card.

Alternatively, they might be able to email it.

Technology is great. :-)
