I am sending the following problem to all the mathematically minded
boffins...please solve it for me, as i am stumped, there is a trick to
it but I cannot see it..maybe you can.
N'joy this mind twister.

This will Mess With Your Head.

3 MEN GO INTO A MOTEL. THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK SAID THE ROOM IS
$300,
SO EACH MAN PAID $100 AND WENT TO THE ROOM.

A WHILE LATER THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK REALIZED THE ROOM WAS ONLY
$250,
SO HE SENT THE BELLBOY TO THE 3 GUYS' ROOM WITH $50.

ON THE WAY, THE BELLBOY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SPLIT $50 EVENLY
BETWEEN 3 MEN, SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A $10 BILL AND KEPT THE OTHER
$20
FOR HIMSELF.

THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID $90 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A
TOTAL
OF $270,
ADD THE $20 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = $290.

WHERE ARE THE OTHER 10 DOLLARS?

This Question has baffled me for years. Each man should have paid 83.3333...each To make it 250 so wouldn't each man have lost 6.66 x 3 = 19.98 witch is the 20 dollars the bell boy took. Oh hell I'm just talking out my a--. If you find out were the other 10 dollars went start hitting hotels, or become a bell boy sounds like you could make $20 so forget were the $10 is.

It was just lost in translation...lol...they added a twist by letting you assume that each of the 3 men paid $90 dollars each when infact, that is not the case.

the $250 is not equal to three $80 which you make out to be the payment of each guy after the discount. It's all about your subtraction and division.

It's really all in how you look at it...

Room $250.00 + 30.00 Given back + 20.00 Bellboy kept = $300.00
