The best thing for you too do is if you live your child with someone you can give them written consent that in case of an emergency they can take your child to the er and see about her needs. then you just get it notarized and its a legal document and that person can take it any where and it will be seen that they have the right to consent at that moment

also if there in case there is a discrepancy you can always put your number on there as well as a contact

All you have to do is write out a letter giving who ever permission to seek medical attention for your child in case of an emergency. You can also have it on file at your local hospital. Be sure that if you write out the letter yourself you get it notarized. I can not stress that enough. Just a note does not go over very well.

I have had to get medical help for a friends 2 year old. She fell down the stairs and cracked her head. The hospital had a note on file giving me permission for them to treat her.

all you have to do is write a letter giving consent. your local department of human services may even have a form that you can fill out giving medical consent to another individual.
