ford is doing very good now they just down sized to be profitable and all they did was close a few of the big Suv's plants and gave all employees either $125,000.00 going away golden hand shake, and or a choice of paying them to go back to school and learn a different trade & up to 5 years and a bi weekly income , and when the re open the big plants they can have there jobs back, UN like GM that laid off 27,00 employees and told the to go collect UN employment and sent there cars & trucks to be built in Mexico at a cheaper man hour labor and charg more for the vehicles and this is not the first time Gm has done this , towns in detroit have gone empty from Gm. but buisness is buisness so its ok I suppose, , ford said due to forgen import sales from all abrod has caused the loss , they make the best cars and trucks on the planet, damler Chrysler is recalling 500,00 thousand 2007 vehicles the jeep , dodge trucks and some other , but any who ford is going to buy some other companys to add the there already , Range Rover, Auston Martin, Jaguar, Mazda, Volvo Lincolen, Mercery, Line, Nissan and ford are talking, and also with GM, GM was turned down by Nissan, Gm Used to own a portion of toyota 20 % something like that and while they were working togeather the have the teck in there truck line and cars , they brought them here and now its killing GM

Are you talking about the employee buyout? If so, it really depends on your age. I don't know all of the details, but if you would still get a retirement package or close to drawing Social Security, then I would take it. If not, then I probably wouldn't.

I think it's a business decision that they didn't share with me when they talked about it, therefore I don't have an opinion.
