Sounds like it may be an ignition module Check that all the plugs are firing, you may be running on 5 cylinders

It sounds like the motor is misfiring under load. These are usually problems with the secondary ignition system. What you need to do is physically remove each spark plug wire from the coil and plug conncetion and look at the actual connector. What you are looking for is corrosion or carbon tracking on the metal connector and heat splits in the insulator that allow the spark to jump to ground. I think your car has heat sinks on some or all of the plug wires at the spark plug end. These just slide off so you can check the boots. If you find corrosion or heat splits in any of the wires, you should replace the complete set. If corrosion or tracking is found in the wires it is also a good idea to replace the spark plugs. If the coil towers are corroded, you should replace the affected coil or the complete modular coil as sanding and cleaning has been found not to work as a permanent fix. If nothing is found on the wires, remove all the spark plugs and inspect the ceramic insulators for carbon tracking and cracks or any other type of damage to the plug. If suspect, replace all of them. If you find nothing, do a maximum coil output test. Do this by removing one plug wire at a time from its coil tower and start the motor. If the spark jumps to ground with a strong and consistent blue tracer, the coil is good. If not the coil has an internal short which affects the output under load. If all that checks okay I would be looking at something like a vacuum leak around the intake area or a fuel pressure problem or a plugged fuel filter. Getting the computer scanned for codes and parameters might be a way to find a clue as to what is going on as well. Good luck.

My question is why you need to do 100 MPH in the first place. When was the last time you replaced the plugs and wires on this car? If it's been a while a tune up is the answer to your question. other wise I would swap out the fuel filter and put a can of BG44K fuel treatment in it. Hope this helps Happy Revving.

i bet ya it's either a fuel filter or fuel pump at 50-70 mph, at 100 or so i bet it's your rev limiter, alot of folks dont know that most of our cars a have a govenor on our cars that limit how fast they can go. When you reach that limit your motor starts acting up to limit how fast you can go , some cars like yours are just about 90-100 mph most pick ups are somewhere around 80-85, thats the makers way of telling you that that is the performance limit of that auto
