If you have chemically straightened hair, then DO NOT use Head and Shoulders shampoo. That's for oily build-up dandruff, not dry scaly dandruff. Those are two totally different things.
I had the exact same problem until I started using Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Oil Shampoo. It's FANTASTIC!!!! Sally's Beauty Supply store also makes a generic that's exactly the same but half the price.
Hint: Throw away your Motions conditioner and try Perfect Results Triple Silk Conditioner. It's at least twice as good. After using it just twice, you'll vomit at the mere thought of Motions Conditioner.
Good Luck!

I agree with barb... do not use head and shoulders and throw away the motions products. Motions does not provide a lot of moisture for black hair. I like Kera Care and they have a shampoo and conditioner for dry and itchy scalp. When you use it, you will actually feel the tingle. My hairdresser uses a relaxer from Afirm that focuses on dry flaky scaps. It is for sensative scalp and has tar in it. It smells like old gym socks dipped in rotton eggs but it got rid of my problem.

You can still rinse your hair without adding chemicals. I would sugjest rinsing your hair every day. Brush it out with a fine brush so the dandruff would get trapped in the brush as well.
