Okay so here's the deal
I think that i may like my best guy friend. It's kind of a tricky situation though because we met through my best friend and her [now ex] boyfriend. My best friend encourages me to go out with him, and i don't know if i really like him or not.

He also sends me mixed signals:
he always says hi to me in the halls and stuff
he gives me hugs all the time
&& i know he thinks of me as one of his good friends

but on the other hand
he never calls me
he rarely answers my calls
[but lots of his friends tell me he never answers his phone anyways]
&& he usually won't go out of his way to talk to me

we always have fun together
so i was wondering based on that
if he could mabye like me
or if he just sees me as a friend

ps:
he has had some tragedies in his life and he doesn't really like to talk about them although he has shared part of them with me plus he has a brother with mental disabilites so could this keep him from wanting to get too close to me

i think that he his more than a best friend, you should start going out with him.

he maybe too shy to call anyone or to make the 1st 'big' move, but i fell that(since he told a part of the secret he never shares) he will move foward after you start moving.

Some guys are lone wolfs and unfortunately are hard to get close to. You probably are not the only one in his life that feels this way. Yes, tragedies in ones life can prevent a person from forming close relationships whether its because they are afraid of you leaving them too. What I would do is continue to be his friend. Tell him you enjoy his company and see what happens. If he keeps pushing you away, then, there is nothing you can do. If he cares enough he will want you in his life. Good luck.

I guess you should go for it, since you got the ok from his ex, but even aside from that most guys dont answer their phones, because they perfer talking face to face. It really depends on how much you know about your best guy friend, if you want to know more it is just best to ask. As long as he is not taken or likes another girl, I would say you have a 85% chance.

He shared part of his personal life with you, and that is hard to do for most guys. Maybe the reason he isn't showing that many signs is because he doesn't want to get hurt. I think if you just give him some time, every thing just might come around.

if he told you some of the tragties in his life then he looks at you as a best friend. if he liked you as more than a friend then he would go out of his way to talk to you. and i don't understand the whole brother part, why would that mess up you two?

I think he only sees you as a good friend... that is what friends do... they hug and say hi to each other and him not calling you means he is not interested to go far... thats just my opinion

It seems that he really cares for you as you do for him, i think that you should take things slow and eas into it. Eventually you might turn into something more, but if this doesn't work there is always someone perfect for everyone.

He thinks you only as a friend. And about hi and hugs: I always say hi to my friends whenever i see them, and hug it nothing...
