Heating pad and I drink hot tea - prefer orange pekoe or black - better to use herbal especially herbal with chamomile (herbal has no caffeine). Walking is the only thing that I find that really helps, but sometimes I need to walk so far that later I have leg cramps!

After about three weeks (by my next period) my breasts were only a little more tender than normal. An unexpected benefit was that my cramps were insignificant. Alexis writes - …what works for me most of the time is, get a heating pad place it right on your cramps, sit in a chair and press your legs up against the pad and the cramps will go away in a few minutes. What also helps is taking midol cramps formula and sitting under a hot shower.
Dani writes - I find that taking black cohosh and blue cohosh right before and during my period helps reduce cramping and shortens the length of my period...Anyway, what I've learned is that the cohoshes cause and regulate uterine contractions. Together, I really find them helpful. I take 15 drops each of the cohoshes every 3-4 hours daily. Red raspberry leaf tea is a good way to get the cohoshes down as they're not terribly tasty! Anyway, hope this info helps others as it has helped me!

Ginger root is for digestion and other stomach upsets. Raspberry leaf tea is so helpful for menstrual cramps, it is recommended to women giving birth. It has to be the leaf though, not the red kind you find in the super market. You can find it in most health food stores.

This helps me...
Using a towel or yoga mat, lie straight down flat on the floor. Slowly, elevate your hips while your feet are flat on the floor. Keep elevating your hips until you are in a comfortable arch position. Hold that arch position for about a minute, then slowly lower your hips. Do as many sets as you can handle.
In addition, hot green tea is also helpful. :)

It's sold in the form of a gel-filled pill at nutrition stores & some grocery stores.
There are also homeopathic medicines that dissolve in your mouth, you can find those at Whole Foods grocery stores..

I am a man, and have had cramps for different reasons, but ginger root usually helps alleviate a lot of the pain.
