BC and AD are ways of dating from the birth of Christ. Politically correct nerds are now using CE and BCE to show their contempt for Christianity.
This is similar to what happened after the French Revolution. The revolutionists were the original Communists: anti religious and anti state. They put a statue of the Goddess of Reason in the church in Paris, to display their hatred of Christianity. They even began using a new dating system: the first year of the Revolution was called l'an un (year one).
Well, the French Revolution is history (sadly, some of it's values have continued). In a few years, I predict that this CE and BCE nonsense will disappear.
Political correctness is just an attempt to intimidate people into accepting ideas and patterns of speech that are acceptable to our elitists.

To avoid confusion. This way, 100 A.D. is 200 years after 100 B.C.
Before Christ runs backward to the birth of Christ.
A.D.(Anno Domini) runs forward after that year.

it was the terminology used back then, b.c. means before christ and a.d. means something i forgot. nowadays, we use B.C.E. and C.E., before common era and common era
