Very good question,
The Oxford dictionary describes Lovely as,
lovely
• adjective (lovelier, loveliest) 1 exquisitely beautiful. 2 informal very pleasant.
• noun (pl. lovelies) informal a beautiful woman or girl.
Also, lovely can be as John Constable writes,
In Claude's landscape all is lovely---all amiable---all is amenity and repose;---the calm sunshine of the heart.

There is a mirror effect.
I feel the emotions of love and my whole being relates, I feel warm, cared for, happy, beautiful, etc....
When we are In Love it is for our great need to be loved which is nurtured and it either expands or runs the course and the feelings subside.
To love is divine. It is the essence of life really.
If we loved instead of warred our world would be an Eden...

This amazing chemistry between a man and a woman, when he feels that she "unintentionally even" clicks on all the right buttons of his manhood, when boredom is something nonexistent in their relationship, and when imagination takes place when the other is not present.
What makes love really lovely, regardless of every known aspect, is, in my humble opinion, this chemistry between them, creating this happiness that can make you do even the silly work while feeling very happy, just because you KNOW she is in your life. You will never know what I mean except if you tried it yourself.
