Is it not a fact that energy and matter are interconvertible ? Now after accepting this fact , then who decides when energy is to be converted to matter and matter to energy ?
There must be some third force which ensures that all the stars and planets in this world , do not collide with each other and dissipates itself into unnecessary energy or forms a super stars or galaxies ?
This is where the concept of universal consciousness comes , which plays a subtle role in creation and preservation of stars and planets . This knowledge , which creates and destroys is termed as Gods . This knowledge is universal and is not dependent on heavenly body's existence or non existence. So your question is answered , this world may die and a next world may take birth , but this consciousness will remain.

Considering God is a Christian thing and Christianity is NOT the oldest religion (paganism is, and I have thoroughly researched this for the last 14 years) I would have to say the world.
Simply because, my belief and research has shown that Paganism is not the first religion and there was no one God commonly thought to rule and create until Christianity became the major religion.
I know loads of people will argue against me about this but I would just say, do as much research as I have in ALL religions and history using independent, not Christian based, sources and you will, if you are not closed minded, see what I am saying.
But hey, I could be wrong, who knows?!?!?

The world came first. Without humans on the world, "God" would not have been created.

God came first. There was nothing but God. No light, no time, no substance, there was no matter. All God said was the word. and it happened. It took six days to make the universe. It says right in the first page of the Bible that God was first then made the world! Isn't that awsome!

Having not been there, I can only speculate. In my opinion, the world came first, then eventually humans, then the idea of god or gods.

The world came first....when it started to cool primitive life forms appeared......over billions of years life evolved....eventually came man.
Its only over the past few thousand years that man invented the idea of a god.

This universe came before this galaxy which came before this world. We can track their births through background microwave radiation these days.
On the other hand, there is no evidence for any deity, from Zeus to Thor to God.
