It depeds on what type of person you are. Some girls pretty much ruin their lives; others don't.
I missed out on:
Partying
Getting wasted every weekend
Sleeping with Random guys
Thinking about myself only
I gained:
Two beautiful daughters
A wonderful husband (probably would have gained him anyways...lol)
The title Mom
The ups:
In the process of getting my degree; I probably wouldn't have bothered if I wouldn't have had children.
Realizing that life is too important for teenage drama.
Anyways, it completely depends on the person.

The up side is that I actually had more patients when I was in that situation then I do now. I also had the privilege of growing up with my boys. I was 19 when I had my youngest, 17 when I had my eldest. We kind of raised each other. Actually had more problems with my husband because he too was young and liked to run. The down side of course was finances, it was tough for awhile. Then once my husband was old enough to get his construction company up and running we did struggle. I had a wonderful family though that were great support. I can not tell you that this is the norm for teens becoming parents and I must say I was blessed! Hope this helps in whatever way you needed, GOD BLESS YOU TOO!!!

I was 17 when i had my son and it was rough at first but then it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. It is the most amazing experience in the world to be a mother and there is no other love like it. My son is 15 months old now and i dont care how old i was when i had him cos he is my life and i believe that he is the reason that i was put on this earth....but the only hard part being pregnant at 17 was just telling my mom, and from there on out it was smooth sailing....good luck

There are many ups & downs in life at all ages, & these are because, the nature wants us to make us strong & enjoy the life. Teenage mom's ups & downs, depends upon the children. So, cannot say exactly.

are there ups? I can tell ya about the downs I have observed, didn't know there were ups. 18 and 19 is teenage, are you speaking of teenage or underage? if you are refering to underage, the downs are plenty, I am not gonna spell them out here, and since the damage has already been done and you are probably at a low point right now. no since in making you feel worse. I think the only ups can be, you got your babymaking out of the way early and you won't have children clinging to you in middle age. people pity you more which makes it better to manipulate the system, your parents will probably help you raise your children. you can play barbie with your child and enjoy it. you can have an excuse for losing your figure. your breast will get bigger and bring all the boys to the yard. ( that's assuming the baby daddy abandons you as usual)

I'm not really sure of the ups...unless it is that your body bounces back better. Teenage moms miss out on a lot of things in life such as finishing their education and furthering their education, time out with friends, the remainder of their childhood! Waiting for motherhood is a smart thing to do. You will be wiser and your child will benefit greatly from your wisdom. You should finish your freedom and childhood first...you can't get that back.

But if you are congratulations!! and i hope things work out for you. i no it feels like the best thing that ever happened to me even though I'm soo young. and it made me take a step back and relies what i want to do with my life. now I'm certain. i want to finish school and go to college, i know it will be difficult but i want to do it for my baby, and i want to prove everyone wrong that thinks now my life is 'ruined'.

You'll def. have to grow up faster and give up a lot (not ALL but a lot) of your life....but..atleast you'll be able to relate you you kid more being a young mom. There's tons of responsibilities and financial obligations to take of...hopefully you're not PLANNING on being a teen mom..it's def. better to wait...but if you are going to be...I wish you the best of luck and work on your patience
