I have no idea but it is a virus and they are all evil little buggers!!

The cold sore is caused by herpes simplex. It lays dormant in your system for months and then when under stress, too much time in the sun or enjoyment of an orange, tomato or strawberries out it pops in the form of a cold sore.
They serve no useful purpose except to tick you off because they arrive just in time for every important event in your life.

i really have no idea but don't you find they always pop up just at the wrong time,like going for an interview you can rely on one making an appearance the day before, or if you have a date with someone sure enough one will appear. i think it must be nerves that bring them to life, but I'm damned if i know what kills them,wish i did, so if you find a cure please let me know hope you get rid of it soon

Like any virus to succeed the virus must infect as many people as people, hence why its easily transmitted. Unfortunately they appear when you are stressed ie, when your body finds it harder to concentrate on fighting the infection. Oof they have no useful function whatsoever! They are there to make your face look awful and to annoy the hell out of you and stop gorgeous people wanting to kiss you.

People who have them, (its called herpes) do things with their partner that I wouldnt do, that is why im divorced.

they are stupid and just annoying, i prefer to use blistex lip infusiun, it is AWESOME!!! it took my cold sore away in 1 day! CARMEX IS BAD IT DOES NOT WORK AND IT DYIES OUT YOUR LIPS!!! DSO NOT USE CARMEX!!!!
