I had two fillings done yesterday at lunch time, and today I have a low grade fever and feel generally unwell. I have a constant dull ache in the area where the fillings were done, it's not severe, just a dull pain that's there all the time. The teeth weren't badly decayed or infected or anything, in fact they didn't even hurt prior to the fillings!
Anyway, could the fever and feeling unwell be linked to the dental work, or is it purely coincidence?

Well I'm a doctor, not a dentist, but I'd say if the teeth weren't infected or even very badly decayed prior to getting the fillings, it's unlikely that your fever is due to the dental work. It's probably coincidental - take paracetamol and ibuprofen alternately every 2 hours (max 1g paracetamol and max 2.4g ibuprofen in 24 hours) which should help with the pain and the fever. If things get worse or if the pain in your teeth gets worse rather than better, it's probably a good idea to give your dentist a call and get things checked over.

The pain is the freezing coming out and will go away soon. The fever is low grade, whatever you mean by that, so try gargling and rinsing with salt water. There's no need to bug your dentist on a Sunday, but if the fever does get worse, then you could call Monday.

My Uncle was left feeling like he had the flu following a routine filling, turned out that he had contracted a bug which travelled to his heart and caused him to suffer from Endocarditis
This eventually got so bad that they were unable to treat it and he passed away
Post Mortem concluded that the filling was the route cause of infection and ultimately lead to his death

The fillings may be the cause for the headache and not the fever. buy : catafast (50 mg) , from any pharmacy, it's an oral solution it's analgesic and anti-inflammatory.Take no more than two sachets per day ( once u feel a headache,or pain)

yes you can get a fever after dental work,you may have developed an infection,call your dentist and explain what is happening.you may need antibiotics.

i get like that i go really cold before and after i have anesetic proberblys because i am petrified of the dentist but when im ok going i just get it after the anesetic has warn off

It sounds like you have an infection in your mouth ...I would get straight back to your dentist who will be able to prescribe antibiotics.
