i am a girl, i like the ocean, the color blue, dancing, singing, being spontaneous, clean and modern things, pink(sometimes), classic and fresh. I have to paint my room, and I have to decide by today...what should i do to my room to give it some new life?

I would suggest you paint your room in several shades of your favorite blue but instead of painting each wall with a different shade, try painting all walls with this pattern:
1. Start with the darker or the lightest shade on the top on each wall with a horizontal, broad stripe
2. Make the following stripe with the next color and so on, so on
3. You can add a chair rail or a nice ocean themed related wall border BUT, instead of putting it on top, locate it at the height the chair rail would go.
4. You can add nice sea accesories like glass bowls with shells and seastars (you can get these at Pier 1 or other import stores, Marshalls, Home Goods, etc.) With these accesories you can integrate or colors to the room like creams, whites and soft pinks.
5. Get a bedspread that integrates some of the colors that are not dominating the room; get a nice muted print with creams, beiges, pinks and very light blues. A nice area rug and decorative wall hangings will complete the looks.
6. Ah! Don't forget cushions!

Have fun redoing your room!

Paint your room a 'cool sea blue' ... and as 'dark' as the sea really is, not 'pastel blue.' Then if you can, get your 'furniture' in a 'greyish brown' driftwood color, and decorate your room with big 'seashells' ... that's very 'classic' but it's also 'fresh' and you can fit lots of more 'modern' things in with it, too. The 'clean' will come 'naturally' if you simply put things away properly and vacuum regularly. I'd also have 'wood floors' with 'area rugs' rather than a carpet all over ... and if you have 'bad' wood floors, try a 'blue' or 'sand colored' linoleum or tile. You'll be able to 'relax' and sleep more naturally if you can make your room into 'what you like' without 'overwhelming it' with too much 'stuff' that is out to 'clutter up the view' so keep it 'light' and put as much as you can behind doors or in drawers.

It sounds like you might like the shabby chic style with a modern flare. Follow the link below for some great ideas. Then add your own modern touch. For example, Strands of costume jewelry can be hung from light fixtures or wound around curtain rods. Take a series of black and white photographs of friends, a favorite entertainment spot or a landscape. Have them developed and then frame them. Hang in a group on the wall. This will make a great focal point.
