That hurt me to my heart because I eat peanut butter sandwiches ALL the time. These bacteria are getting into EVERYTHING, huh? Pretty soon, we won't be able to eat anything, & bacteria will be getting into our Lucky Charms & Corn Flakes. Geesh!

sad to point this out, but ALL processed foods have bacteria. When you look at labels, you will often see ingredients that are sanitizers so you don't get sick from the bacteria. Red food color is made from dead beatles-common sense says thats not a good idea. Rat hairs have been allowed in peanut butter for years (the crackheads at the FDA decided there was no problem with that) If you eat foods processed in factories, its contaminated-there is no way you can mass produce things, and assume that all of the workers washed their hands after using the bathroom, that bits of human hair and skin cells didn't end up in the food, or insects or mice, etc.. Unless you make everything homemade, you are getting dosed with who knows what every day. Same goes for fast food, restaurant food, etc. You just don't know.

"These bacteria" are already (and always have been) in almost all animal-derived and many vegetable-derived food products, just in low enough levels not to do too much harm. All that has actually changed is that news media is now almost instant, so you hear about it!

Currently about 2 new people per minute contract a food-borne illness, so naturally as the population grows, so will the total number of cases.

Bon appetit!

P.S. Lucky Charms & Cornflakes are both made with cereal crops, which are full of bug parts! (always have been, always will be- you cannot harvest wheat or corn or rice without also harvesting the insects that live on these crops!)

Quit worrying, wash your hands, and enjoy your meal!

the only peanut butter recalled is by peter pan and has a code that starts 2111. I ate some and know others that did and didn't get sick at all.
