I have an 8 yr old boxer, so know them well. Never owned a border collie, so no idea what they're like. Have had dogs my whole life, so I know what to expect in general. Would love to hear from anyone who has a dog of this same mix.

If the mix guess is actually correct, this will be a very active dog. Please get enrolled in a class so that you can learn how to keep your dog occupied - BC's especially need to have a job to do and need to be exercised mentally as well as physically. Here are some links to help:

It's hard to predict the temperament or personality traits of a mix breed.. You don't know what genes they picked up from either parent. Might look like a border collie but have the personality traits of a boxer.. Can never tell with a mixed breed, it's really senseless to try much more then general information on each breed. You can't even begin to predict.

You can't predict the traits a mixed breed will have. Also, if you adopted this dog, the shelter might be wrong about the mix it really is.
That said, border collies are highly energetic, highly intelligent dogs. They have a tendency to stare at animals and people, because that's how they manipulate sheep in the field. They are very destructive if not given a task to do.

it is imposible to determine what one mutts personality will be by comparing it to the same kind of mutt. All mutts can have more of one gene than another.
