Jeet Kune Do is what Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did and was like 7 something. It was created by Bruce Lee.

It is a mistake to assume that the classes for beginners is representative of advanced classes and advanced techniques.
Shotokan teaches low stances as a way to teach the sequence of muscle movement, and as preparation for teaching about how people of different body types move. If you are only going to learn about styles that work with your body type, then you can only teach other people of that body type and you can only defend effectively against people of that one body type.
Advanced practitioners don't use those low stances in fighting except sometimes when applying Shoray-rue style movements during close in fighting.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is good for tall people. I roll with a guy who is quite tall and has very long legs and it is very hard to escape his closed guard and he can easily triangle me (I'm kinda small) and much bigger guys as well.

Another great Martial Art for someone who is really tall is Muay Thai ( which is a striking art , which utilizes head, knee, elbows, punches, and kicks ) Best all around striking art there is.
Thanks for your time.

Jeet Kune Do, which is Bruce Lee's style. If Kareem Abdul-Jabar can do it, you surely can. He is 7'2".
