Thanks for helping out.

This info will help you figure out what the colors do when mixed in a color scheme.

With purple:

the high energy high contrast colors are yellows. (across from purple on the color wheel)

the calming color schemes are with blues and reds. (beside purple on the color wheel)

and you can go both cool and warm, from plums to fuschias...and they can be dark or light, and you can use it all over, or just in little splashes. I would start subtle and work up to the amount and intensity you want.

Designing...is kind of tricky with fengshui. I don't know if your needs are going to change with regard to purple. If you will need purple in the house your whole life, and you are staying in the house for a while, then you can do anything you want not worrying about undoing it. But fengshui aside, you might be locked into landlord policies, or wanting the house to retain it's resale value, as well as dealing with furniture that you have invested in.

Most decorators will tell you that pieces you have to deal with for a long time, like sofas, solid wood furniture, and beds, electronics, etc...need to be easy on the eye and not subject to decorating trends. (If feng shui colors change I would say it is a trend). This means that you make the most conservative and versatile choices with them...with color the word is neutral.

With paint on most walls and other surfaces, etc you can go crazy because paint is undoable, and cheap.

OK so some principles down...I don't know how to tell you what to do with them in your specific case, because I don't know what the purple is supposed to accomplish in your situation.

If it is supposed to bring out power, confidence, energy, etc then go with brights, contrasting (with yellow) colors, and you can be heavy handed with it. If it is supposed to be reflective, meditative, serene, etc then mix it with blues and use a light hand.

Why the whole house? I love purple, but would not paint everything that color. To answer your Q. yellow, cream, white, all look good with purple. Remember there are many shades of purple u can go with.

You need to make sure that your mailbox is made of solid steel and that you like cleaning eggs off your exterior walls, if you live anywhere around here. Guaranteed the neighbors will "thank" you for helping to increase their property values.
