You go girl! That rocks! My 12 year old daughter loves to cook too. So many people can't cook, which is just plain silly. How about some curried cous cous with vegetables-tasty and healthy, and super easy to cook. Find some cous cous (its a tiny pasta grain, if you don't know what it is) It can be found in most groceries where the rice or middle eastern stuff it. You can saute up some onions, green pepper, celery and zuchini, then add that to the curry which you make according to the package directions (super easy, cooks in 5 minutes) You could serve this with pita bread and a nice salad (homemade dressings are fun to make) Good luck, and keep up the good work! Email me if you need more information or other ideas

I can tell you something for dessert that is incredibly easy to make. Pineapple upside down cake. And just a little vanilla ice cream on the side. It's really cool that you like cooking. I love to watch the food network. If you want to make almost any dish healthy just make a good salad to go w/ the meal. Do you like curry. You can make lots of things w/ curry and have a more exotic dinner than the usual.

the first meal i ever made for my family was hawaiian meatballs with rice.if i was making it today for my family i would use ground turkey or chicken as the basis for the meatballs.
1-2 pounds of ground meat
meatballs are made kind of like meatloaf
use crackers(crushed), eggs, and work them into the ground meat to help the meat stay together
the sauce is made with brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, and water and then later add the pineapple rings or pieces to the finished sauce, for color and taste
then cook the rice in the following manner 2 cups or water for every one cup of rice. and then also you can cook some asian style (frozen is actually 2nd best for you from fresh)vegetables for a complete meal
when i went to teach my children to cook the meal that is easy and almost never fails, baked chicken in an oven bag(follow the directions on the flyer in the oven bag box), with either rice or mashed potatoes and frozen vegetables.
you can check allrecipies.com for easy quick recipies too.

Would you try making pasta with some sort of red sauce? It's easy enough, you just boil water, add salt and the pasta. Just make sure that the water is boiling and stir the pasta every so often. Don't leave it in too long, and I always taste one to make sure it's cooked all of the way. Good Luck!, and good for you for trying to cook.

I have a really weird drink recipe but that may not help you. It is called Orange Tango.
Ingriedients-
Ice- 8 cubes
Orange Juice- 2 cups
water-2 cups
First put everything into a blender. Then mash it up. Walla. Your drink is made.
*Optional- you can cut an orange slice and put it on the glass like they serve at restaurants.

The first thing I made for my family was chicken parmesean with stuffed mushrooms. Not exactly healthy, but absolutely delicious!
For the mushrooms, sautée some garlic. Combine with parmesean cheese, bread crumbs, butter, and herbs. Remove mushrooms stems and fill the caps. Bake about 15 minutes, and you have a mean side dish.

love it!
Another idea is stir fry. You can buy stir fry sauce at the store, or use soya sauce. Fry up the meat in the sauce, add in cut up vegetables (I like carrots, broccoli, peppers, mushrooms and onions), cook a little bit more (add more sauce if needed) and serve over instant rice. Yum.

Ask your parents to name several meals they enjoy, and pick one. To ensure its healthy:bake or broil meat or fish DO NOT FRY. For veggies, use fresh rather than canned.(same for fruit) Potatoes are OK BUT not fried and not with butter or cheese. Try a baked potatoe with non fat sour cream. Dessert??? Fresh fruit/non fat yogurt with a dollop of fat free cool whip
