I am really upset that we Christians are always being persecuted and having out rights taken away by these athiest losers. Why must the Christians of America ride the back seat of the bus of society whiel these people continue to destroy the constitution?

There are 2 reasons why I can not stand athiests: They are forcing their non-beliefs on the rest of society and they seem to want to shut down all the churches. Why can't athiests get a real life and actually make a significant contribution to society.

Oh, BTW: If athiests are so sure that there is no god, prove it. Do athiests have any proof?

I'm an atheist and I don't think I'm a terrible member of society (I spend my Sundays volunteering instead of going to church). I don't force my beliefs onto anyone; I respect the fact that everyone has a different belief system. I wouldn't be happy if churches were shut down; they're important for some people, so why should I take that away from them?

Also, faith, as you must know if you are a Christian, is not a matter of logic or proof. I don't require you to "prove" your god, you shouldn't require me to "prove" that one doesn't exist. It's just what you personally feel and believe.

Chill out and try not to generalize. The heretic right here is being a bit more accepting towards you than you are towards her, eh?

I'm no atheist, but I'm also not an aggressive "born-again" fundie.

I think the record will show that it is the Christians who are responsible for most of the "misery" in the world; from the Crusades up through modern times, where "false prophets" (but "Christian" ones, none the less) convinced many to take their lives - Jim Jones, David Koresh, Marshall Appelwhite.

It is "Christians" like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson that fill followers' heads with nonsense. Atheists have no such majority when it comes to organization or number of followers.

In their defense, I'm certain that many atheists are making "significant contributions to society," in many of the same, common ways that Christians are; community service, donations of time and money to shelters and pantries.

Stop making irresponsible generalizations.

Why can't EVERYONE just be "fulfilled" and content within their own system of belief?

Why does spirituality or philosophy have to be linked to aggression or bashing?

Methinks it is more a question of emotional immaturity than any real argument over theology or philosophy.

In my opinion, christians are anything but persecuted. In case you haven't noticed, the president is a christian, and he stacked the supreme court with his fanatic cronies. In addition, the majority of congress is christian. So how can WE destroy the constitution?
Christians are far more intent on taking away rights and forcing their beliefs on everyone. I have never seen or heard about atheists picketing a movie theater or christian bookstore or church; yet christians frequently get up in arms and protest things they believe are morally wrong--regardless of whether it has any impact on them.
Most atheists work regular jobs and contribute time, money and\or labor to charities (at least the ones I know). They want to free people from unneccessary guilt and suffering caused by christianity. That seems like a fairly worthwhile contribution to me.
As for proof of god's existance, I don't need to prove it. Why should I care? There is no reason to believe. I think you need to come up with some objective, empirical proof that he does exist.

OK, well firstly, I'm sorry you seem to have encountered so many annoying atheists. Since the State, despite its notional secularity and separation of powers, is exclusively identified with Christianity in terms of faith - One Nation Under God, In God We Trust, God Bless America etc etc, please go further and tell me exactly what rights it is that you think you're losing, other than the right to culturally enforce the tenets of your faith upon a multicultural and multi-faith nation?

Atheists, as far as I know, don't campaign to close down churches - believe what you like, worship where you like, we really don't care as long as we don't have to share the belief. All we do is put the case for atheism forward; if more people are coming to see the logic of the case, that's the basis of any good ministry, isn't it? The line about atheists making a significant contribution to society (with the inference that we don't, simply because we're atheists) is rather beneath contempt I'm afraid. And atheists do not presume to know how everything was created, we simply have some pretty convincing theories of how it did. So it's not for us to prove that gods don't exist, and those who believe that they do exist don't need proof, so proof, all round, is a moot point.

lol
please tell me you are joking. i'm going to be rofl'ing all over the place.
Assuming you are in fact serious, did it ever occur to you that there are lots of Christians out there promoting censorship? (i.e. Laura Mallory) All the athiests want to do is have different beliefs than you and not be persecuted for it, then you antagonize them and claim that you are being persecuted? Give me a break. I believe in God but I don't go around telling people that athiests are ruining my life, mainly because they aren't. Either you are delusional, or you are lying to others, and yourself, ultimately. Do your research before you make accusations, or you will have a lot of foot-in-mouth situations.
I'm sure that Christians all over the world will thank you to stop embarassing our religion.

We're merely standing up for ourselves. We don't want YOU forcing your beliefs onto the rest of us. Since Christians often fail to agree on things, why should be listen to the brainwashing and discouragement from free-thinking? Think about that the next time you feel you have a mission to cram your religion in someone else's face, and then you will likely see that we are not interested in an argument. In other words: don't start something, and then we won't have to respond.

We need proof that there is a God.

You are complaining that atheists are destroying your rights. I have the right to do whatever I want but religion tries to suppress that right. I have the right to walk down the street without some reilgous nut coming up to me asking do I believe in god and if I say no have a hard time getting the nut to leave me alone without breaking his/her jaw. To not have somebody knocking at my door at 7pm just when the football match is starting with some more religous rubbish.

You need to get a life and stop trying to persecute others because you think youre life is crap because we are busy helping others and enjoying ourselves. You are busy trying to get people to live life by your rules.

I wouldn't get your panties in a bunch...
Look, the USA is over 81% Christian; thats the majority.
Nobody is able to take God out of anything.
It may look like they can, but its not gonna happen; you have to understand that the Plan of God is moving forward at a very rapid pace - this is all prophecy being fulfilled right before your very eyes, so don't be too concerned. Anybody who believes they are athiest is fooling themselves.
All souls are already owned by God, paid for and purchased. Nobody is getting away with anything, and nobody else except God is really in control. What is happening in the world is all part of the great plan, and since it is working quite well, just relax and let it be.
It will all come right, I assure you....
oh, and don't be too "down" on athiests;
don't forget that they are probably athiests simply because the churches have at one time or another fed them lies, and they do not want to blindly follow something they feel is a lie. Thats why I always say: if you tell someone one little lie, they will not ever believe anything you ever have to say, ever again. So, unfortunately, even when you tell them pure truth, they will not be able to find it in their hearts to believe it.
God will not condemn them; He will teach them. Keep the faith; all is well. God Bless.

Hi sweetie.

What have I done to make life miserable for anyone? Asked them to look at life in a more scientific, logical fashion, and question their beliefs? If your beliefs are strong, nothing I say will make a difference.

I am NOT forcing my non-beliefs on society. I live in a society where god is on my money, and homosexual people cannot marry because a book I do not believe in says it is wrong. That makes my beliefs the ones being trampled, thank you.

I, and many other atheists make just as many contributions to society as believers do. Not because we are commanded to do good works, nor expect them to get us into heaven, but because we know the right thing to do and do it. W e know that there is no god to do it for us, WE must take action and effect change.

I do not have to prove there is no god. If you want to believe there is one, you are welcome to do so. Your belief does not make it so.
