Obviously, we are looking for some type of help with an issue, whats wrong with being nice about it. What if something you say thinking its (funny) really hurts someone, now im smart enough to know that the occasional jerk is waiting in the wings to be a moron but most people are decent. To all of you who answered and helped, thank you, sometimes its nice to be able to ask the (what would you do) question to those who have nothing at stake and get some good feedback , to the rest of you... get a life and find something better to do.

Ive noticed that most dumb "put downs" go to the dumb questions. "My baby just got his leg cut off from the lawn mower, Should I take him to the Doctor? And stuff like that. Serious questions usually get good answers but theres always a few "Jackass's".

I could possibly be the one who you are speaking of, and if so, then my intention is never to put anyone down, but to enlighten them. If by chance my answers are not in agreement with your line of thought, then that is just an opinion of mine and you are welcome to disregard them.

When you put a question out there on front street, you are supposedly looking for unbiased opinions, so that you can form your own. Sometimes these opinions hit hard at the realm of what is actually going on with a person, and that person can not face reality or tolerate anyone being so blunt with them. If this is your case, then may I suggest that you not post any more questions to Yahoo Answers and get real with yourself!

That is a very good point I totally agree, some people have personal issues of there own or just have an ugly outlook on life and on people so they use this place to vent there negativity and to hurt peoples feelings that are already experiencing pain, I just pray for people like that.

It's a good question, some people obviously think so little of themselves their only source of amusment is making other people feel bad. But that's the chance we take when we ask a question. You have to be able to learn from the helpful ones and ignore then unhelpful ones.

Well some people take offence to things that others would not. I have in the past answered questions and tried to be helpful and then the asker comes back and says I was being rude. For instance this woman was trying to get a free lap top by going onto those scamming websites, I told her to get a job if she didn't have one and save her money and time by buying it herself. She then jumped down my throat calling me rude for telling her to get a job and gave me a sob story about being a single mom with three kids.

Some people might agree with her but I have talked to others who agree with me. It just comes down to the fact that you cannot please everybody. There are people out there that get kicks out of being rude purposely and in that case, I agree with you and they should get a life.

I think it is a shame when people make rude/judgmental comments, or makes a joke instead of helping when someone is genuinely asking for help.

My guess is that a certain percentage of the population are just jerks. I also think that the anonymity and lack of face-to-face interaction contribute to impersonal responses.

My dear, these people are called TROLLS. They are a subhuman life form and no-one should ever take them seriously.

Reading through answers on Yahoo is like panning for gold. Sometimes you find the real thing, but often you just find the fools type.

I agree. Here, I ask intelligent questions & get falsely accused of crying for attention, when I don't. I REALLY need help. But there's the WHAT SHOULD I DO RETARD who ALWAYS posts in the RELIGION & SPIRITUALITY section & asks questions that have NOTHING to do with religion @ all, & people give him reasonable answers. What does religion have to do with him asking, "My jello sings to me & changes different colors. What should I do?" & here people say, "Sing along with it.", rather than telling him, "Get a life, dweeb!" People are so thrown off & backwards on here, I swear!.

*Sorry for the long-winded answer.

Sometimes the answer is so obvious you know it can't possibly be a real question.

I think if the questions were more thought-out before being posted this wouldn't happen as much.
