Well, the drunk driving issue is going to cost him his license, he will have to carry SR22 insurance when he does get his license back. Now, the accident, he likely is going to be sued by the other people or their insurance company. Since there is a critical injury, it would be best if your son gets an attorney working for him right away, you don't want him signing any kind of settlement, he needs legal advice before anything else. It is good that he stayed at the scene, hit and run would have made this much worse, plan on making payment arrangements through his attorney, if he is low income, his attorney fees may be lowered, but you must ask for help. Your son is young sir, and I'm sure he has learned from this experience, unfortunately, it is going to be a costly error for him to correct. Good luck.

He needs a good dam lawyer for starters! Hes given to his country and made a major mistake, he needs to stop drinking/driving for life! But he also needs a friend and your support, be there for him this time, and only this time!
