This guy is my age and we are both 27. He is type of person who always dines in fancy restaurants, wears desinger clothes and travels around in first class, whereas I am just an average girl. He is taking me out next week. I have known him for a while but I can't say I know him well. I have never gone out with successful guys like him (career wise), so how should I overcome my self concsiousness on the first date. Serious answer please. Thanks.

Relax. Be your best, but still be yourself. Either he will be into the real you or he will not.
Trying to impress is great, but trying to be someone you are not is the kiss of death for any relationship, not to mention your own self-esteem.
As my father put it to me (and I wished I would have listened earlier in my life):
"Stop obsessing about meeting Ms. Right - Start obsessing about being Mr. Right - you will relax and then Ms. Right will notice you for the Mr. Right that you are."

Yes you should just be yourself. But if dining out a lot is going to ruin your diet or anything it might be a problem if you try to cramp his style in restaurants once you are going out with him on a more regular basis...or you can just have salad.

Well, obviously he likes who YOU are so be yourself. Don't be so nervous that you hide your personality...that is the #1 most important thing on the first date. Oh, yeah look hot, too!

you guys obviously have a connection otherwise u wouldnt be dating...dont pay attention to the fancier things in his life, if hes not showy dont let it bother you
be you, thats who he likes, he likes you honey,youve made it already so just be you and have a good time...try not to concentrate on his career n money, everyones lifes come into play at one point, some just take longer then others
