Bit like asking if there is any love lost between fans of Auchinleck Talbot and Glenafton (Ayrshire Junior League) before, during or after the local derby haha.

Honestly, I work with fans of both Rangers and Celtic, and the banter on a Monday morning esp, is superb. "Yer team's shite" etc. etc or "what the **** happened to your lot, ye's are pure pish"
Can be quite funny if you are a non old firm fan.

My favourite site which incidentally IS worth a look and open to ALL genuine fans of the game, regardless of race, religion or who you support is www.ukfootballone.co.uk. You want a combination of useful fact, banter, music, gripes and whatever your into - then give it a go, I promise you will not regret it.

Definitely NOT friendly..... A lot of very highly charged emotions between those two teams.

On the other hand...In Glasgow, Catholic and non- denominational schools are very close to each other, so normally friends who live beside each other could go to different schools. They then go out to work and may work beside a supporter of the opposite club.
On occasions like these...you'll have Celtic and rangers fans drinking and singing side by side in the pubs watching the footie on the T.V.....This is all friendly banter...But it can and does turn ugly when opposing fans meet in the street after an Old Firm match.

Actually as a former season ticket holder for celtic who lives with a die hard rangers supporter I can safely say that there is a lot of friendly rivalry.

I have friends who support both teams and the proper supports can enjoy banter between each other all the time. My boyfriend plays football with a lot of celtic supporters and they always slag each other about it, especially seeing as we are going to win the league this season but rangers beat us in the last old firm game.

It is now a small minority that are bitter about a lot more than football that have to bring religion in to it. I have been called a fenian b astard on more than one occassion mostly by people who dont know anything about football.

It has been made out worse than it is by the media and the highlighting of the troubles in northern ireland. You get people graffiting about the IRA and UVF when they are also grafiting about Celtic and Rangers but that is just wee neds who have too much buckfast and have never been to a game in their lives.

There is friendly rivalry in most places. It's just on here Rangers fans can't take a wee slagging but think it's fine to spout their biggoted poison in spades.

You should know, you were doing it yourself last night!
