Absolutely, unless you have a giant breed puppy in which case you don't want them growing too fast.

Canidae all the way. I feed it to puppies, adults, males, females, working dogs etc. Do not buy into the hype of puppy food crap, in nature there is no such thing and adults and puppies all eat the same things. Canidae is formulated for all stages of a dog's life. I have fed it for years and have never had a single problem with any of my dogs. It is hands down the best dog food out there. True, it may be more expensive then others, but, you get what you pay for and you feed less. My competition dog, at 90 pounds, eats what amounts to 2-3 cups a day and he performs great. Try it, you will like it.

No, since it contains way to many cheap fillers as do all supermarket brands of foods.

Puppies/Dogs should be fed better quality meat based foods. They are carnivores ....meat eaters not grain eaters.

Some good choices: Canidae, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, Innova, Wellness, Solid Gold, Percise, Premium Edge, California Natural, Timberwolf, just to name a few.

Also if you own a giant breed puppy such as a Great Dane they should never be fed a puppy food of any kind not even large breed. They need a quality adult food of no more then 24% protein.

Puppy chow is the crappiest food in the world for puppies.

Low quality foods like puppy chow have been shown to contain: roadkill, euthanized pet animals, cancer-infected cows and sheep, and various other inferior meat-sources both as meat by products and rendered fats (animal fat or animal by-products can contain any animal source the company wants to use). They are preserved with chemicals that have been banned from human consumption for causing cancers. The grains they use are cheap and often moldy, also banned from human consumption for health reasons. Most of their content is corn, rice, and other fillers that dogs, as carnivores, really don't need. They dump in powdered vitamins to claim they are complete nutrition, but it's a fact that all animals need to absorb most of their vitamins from whole foods, not in solid vitamin form. Puppy chow is guaranteed to give your pup a short, less healthy life and will contribute to obesity, skin disorders, allergies, and general poor health.

See the list I gave in your other question.

nope - in fact Puppy CHow is a low quality food.

infact any foods found in grocery stores or Wal Marts are fairly poor quality - too much filler - not enough nutrition - your pup will have to eat a lot more of a low quality food to get the same needs met as if eating LESS of a better one - also he will poop more

rule of thumb - if you see a lot of commercials for a food you can be sure its junk - they are putting money into advertising NOT into ingredients.

good foods are ONLY sold in pet food supply stores, and even then not all of them are good - some (like Science Diet and Eukanuba) have inflated prices for their quality but a quick glance at the ingredients will show you they are JUNK

bad ingredients:
By-products - beaks, feet, feathers, preserved with dangerous chemical pesticide
Corn, wheat, soy - cheap fillers, sometimes cause allergies - shouldnt be in dog food and especially never in top 3 spots
BHT, BHA, Ethoxyquin - bad preservatives
Pork, Beef - are ok, cheaper than lamb or chicken BUT some dogs are allergic
Meatmeal -NEVER GOOD = mystery meat = could be any dead animal

if you get a PREMIUM LEVEL food you will pay more BUT you feed less, have less poops, and hopefully fewer health issues

If it's a giant breed - Great Dane, mastiff etc. - NEVER feed puppy food. Giant breeds should have only high quality adult food - check the label - meat should be the first ingredient. Fat content no higher than 12-14% and protein no higher than 22-24%.

Smaller breeds have different requirements.

I would have to say no, it is filled with a lot of additives that aren't good for their digestive system. I also have to say no because my dog has a very sensitive stomach and puppy chow is the thing that hurts it the most.
I would say ask your vet or stick with a name brand of food for your puppy.
