My father was only about 20 years old when I was born,so he didn't know how to raise a kid,and he doesn't talk to me too much. My grandparents have 5 children,my father included.Although they loved me very much, when they were unhappy, they often vent their anger on me,maybe that's because I was too naughty.
And, when I was little, the boys treated me like a toy, they were always trying to tease and touch me.
Everybody says that I'm a happy girl, but they don't know it when I'm gloomy.I've kept silent for since I was a child, when I'm gloomy,I don't tell anybody, coz I don't want others to know that I'm so weak. And,I'm not sure whether they care about me.
When I was in high school,my brother hit and kicked me,and I was hurt.As a result,I didn't go to school for a week.I didn't tell anyone about that, but my mother knew it soon. She cried and blame my brother, but they didn't punish him.
I thought I've forgotten all about that, but maybe that's why I'm so insecure?

That's really horrible that you have lots of nightmares. I doubt it is a mental illness though. You may just be going through a difficult time in your life. :(

Everybody has 6-12 dreams/ nightmares everynight. People believe that they dont have dreams because they cannot remember them. It is not a mental illness. You are just having worse dreams and therefore remembering them because they are more significant. Dreams/ nightmares are the things in your life that you think very little about. After a dream i write it down, and in the morning i can almost always match it up to something that i thought about for only a few seconds. Its bad that u were beaten but i highly doubt that is the cause. Being insecure doesnt have to with it either. Just dont think about bad things during the day. Or if you do, concentrate on them for a long time.

If you eat food an hour before bed you are likey to get a nightmare because your body is being fueled before it's about to be put down, it needs to exert that energy on something else! It will attack your body through your dreams and make you work off the calories my worrying/being scared/tossing and turning. If you are one to grab a snack before bed, try to not eat anything before going to bed.

Nightlights can help to open the room up to you to show you there is nothing around you. If you open your closet, look under your bed and show there is nothing there, close your blinds, shut your door and sleep knowing your safe.

Sometimes if you still feel unsecure, something you can do is roll yourself up in a blanket and sleep as if you are in a cacoon.

Also, one last thing, if you are still thinking about something that you can't get off your mind or even if your not thinking about anything, it's good to get different things in your head. If you go to bed thinking your going to have a nightmare, then your gonna worry to much and end up forcing your self into it.

Have you ever tried changing your dream? Your dreams are controlled by you because the source comes from you. When your having a rough dream, it is tough, but try and realize that you are in your dream. I have realized a couple times I was in my dream and I wasn't afraid at all. I jumped of cliffs, crashed cars, and had fun. If it's scary you just have to know that it's YOUR DREAM. YOU can't get hurt. Nothing is gonna happen!

Take control ;)

Hope this helps!

Frequent nightmares that occur to a point were it disturbs normal sleep patterns are clinically considered psychiatric illness's and can be treated with intervention and medication. If it does not disturb your sleep patterns just try to restrict your self of watching the News or Horror films and try to think pleasant thoughts while falling asleep. Also trauma and stress can also cause nightmares. Also try to refrain from cheese or dairy product as they contain tryptamines the can cause feeling of panic and nightmares. If the nightmares really bother you then seeing a psychologist would be necessary.

Anyways tell me about your nightmare what is about if explicable.

There is definitely something that's troubling you in your mind, and that you need to get rid of. It may be your brother hitting you, or maybe something else that you didn't post in this page. I suggest getting advice from a psychologist. I also know the best psychologist in the world: his name is Jesus Christ.

YOU know i am glad God loves us when nobody else loves us. God loves you. WHEN the world go out God comes in. YOUR dreams are from your past hurts. DO you believe in church? It may help to talk thies things out with a trained pastor.

because if a person has not properly and completely removed all ties to the trauma, that trauma or memory will always manifest when you sleep or whenever such as everyday life.
