I would like to know how much salaries between £30.000 and £40.000 get taxed, what is the tax band that is, and what is the lowest salary at which the 40% tax applies to in the UK?

10% up to 2150
22% on 2151 to 33300
40% on 33300+

to work tax on the amt above

take tax code add 5 to the end eg 503L = 5035 personal allowance

if you've got a K code you'll be adding the personal allowance not subtracting it

annual salary -/+ personal allowance (from tax code) = taxable pay

divede into taxable bands allocating appropriate tax to each band

add the tax amount due for each band to get total tax due.

please note manual tax deduction methods vary slightly from table methods which most employers use
