What's the difference between a 2404 and a 5988? I don't have the ability to look at the forms right now. I thought a 5988 was for PMCSing but last time I did a PMCS it was on a 2404. Did it change or am I confused or what?

the 5988-e is an electronic pmcs form that is in the ULLS computer. It will have a list of any parts that are on order for your item. the 2404 is just a form you can print out from form flow/pure edge and it is just there for you to write down faults, then give it to your mechanic and they should put that into the ULLS box.

Usually it is just easier to get on Formflow, print out a bunch of 2404's, and PMCS your equipment, unless you enjoy walking half a mile to the motor pool to stand in line for 50 minutes to get a 5988, and then walk back to the barracks, and that's assuming the shop isn't closed for lunch by the time you finally get up to the counter.

The 5988 is the electronic form of the 2404. They both are for PMCSing of equipment. No you're not confused, just a little behind schedule.
