You can but not encouraged. Chances that you'll likely to place hot items such as pots of hot soup, hot pants on countertop; the laminate tiles may not be able to withstand the heat.

Sure you can. But it might not look as good as you think, counter tops are usually very hard, these peel and stick flooring are very soft. You'll cut right into them, also for sanitation think about all the crevasses that will be available for microbial growth. Don't put chicken on it, salmonella!!!!

Its a free country...you can, but how will it be viewed by others, or if you go to eventually sell the place? As long as the surface they are being applied to is clean, grease free, and even and smooth, the tile should go down alright and not be prone to lifting.

No. They won't hold up to heat and will cut easily. Cleaning the edges would be a nightmare also. What would you adhere them to anyway?
