Yes I knew their stance on pitbulls and their agenda on ending all pet ownership. Sick people in that organization.

It think pit bulls are awsome. My grandpa's neighbor has 2 and a new puppy and they very nice. The puppy is adorable. They are great with kiddies, stay in the house and are nice with strangers. When people think of a mean dog, it is usually a german shepherd or a pit bull or a doberman. Not fair judgemements. They are often very nice. Any dog is prone to be aggresive. Staffordshire bull terriers are one of the most popular dogs in the world, and are great with kids and are nice. But at the same time, they had a fighting history. 2 weeks ago there was a staffy that bit a kid and it was on the front page of the news! I used to have a border collie that I rescued and it had to be put down because it was aggresive with people it didn't know.

I think PETA should rethink their idea. Pit bulls are nice. Those few that are bred to be aggresive are the only ones that should be banned.

my sister has a pitt bull and she is the sweetest dog ever a little too fatt but none the less sweet. so i have nothing against pitt bulls. BUT.. when a dogg is breed for fighting this can couse serious consurns. THey are then unsuitable for homes with children and other animals. i don't care how sweet a dogg is if it had half a chance of biting my children there is no way i would adopt it and i love dogs i have three. one is a rescue dog. their are organizations that specialise in the care of the cruelty of these animal. but they have major lack in funding. and places like aspca only have so much room, so they have to go buy adoptablity. which ones can be adopted out couse of funding. as for the punishing of the people who train these doggs, the worst part, no one takes ownership. no one cares enough the say yeah thats my dog. and poor records are kept in the breed world of dogs. PETA sucks they are a stuipid organiztion that should not be taken seriously. if you want a good laugh watch penn and tellers bullshit. i think it was sesion 2 they did and episode about PETA. if it's not 2 its 1. You'll see them in a hole new light

I once had an elderly lady for a friend. She had a wonderful little dog. A mix of some sort. She had the dog trained well and it behaved very well. Learn here https://tr.im/6ljiI

She kept an uncovered candy dish on her coffee table with candy in it. The dog was forbidden to eat the candy. When she was in the room observing the dog he did not even appear to notice the candy. One day while she was in her dinning room she happened to look in a mirror and could see her dog in the living room. He did not know he was being watched. For several minutes he was sitting in front of the candy bowl staring at the candy. Finally he reached in and took one. He placed it on the table and stared at it, he woofed at it. He stared some more, licked his chops and PUT IT BACK in the bowl and walked away. Did he want the candy, oh yeah. Did he eat it? Nope. They can be trained that well but most, I'll admit, are not trained that well. When I was a young boy, maybe 5 years old. We had a german shepherd. He was very well trained also. My mom could leave food unattended on the table, no problem. She would open the oven door and set a pan roast beef or roast chicken on the door to cool. No problem. He would not touch it, watched or not. But butter? Whole other story. You leave a stick of butter anywhere he could reach and it was gone. He was a large shepherd so there were not many places he could not reach. Really, I think the number of dogs trained to the point they will leave food alone when not being supervised is very small indeed.
.
Now if we are talking obedience training, not food grubbing, that is a different story. Way back when I was first learning obedience training one of the final exercises was to put our dogs in a down/stay and not only leave the room but leave the building for 15 minutes. The only person that stayed was our trainer, not the owners. Most of the dogs in my class did not break their stay, which would be an automatic fail. I'm happy to report my dog was one of the ones that passed.

I agree and feel so badly for these pit bulls! They deserve just as much love and humane treatment.

This delicate breed shouldn't be punished because of the fact that humans decided to breed them for aggressive fighting.

PETA is just crap. Just look at some of their commercials, their stands on things....This world was founded on domesticating animals and eating meat.

Sure do know what their stand is, and it's not just pitbulls that they want to kill. They want all human to non-human interaction to end. This includes pets.

Yes I have been aware of PETA's stand for some time now, and I and many other Pitbull enthusiates no longer support PETA because of their apparent genocide attempt to eliminate such a courageous breed. Even the the author of this story has her heart in the right place some of her facts are incorrect. Pitbulls have been around in documetation since as early as the 1400's. Pitbulls also originated in Spain & Sicily. They are also mistakenly said to be related to the American Staffs, the English Staffs, and Bull dogs, however they are a true breed of their own. But that is not the point I am trying to make so I will move on.
The American Pitbull Terrier is an amazing breed, that I myself have had a great priveledge of being raised around since my birth. I can tell you countless of stories on how myself and my sister have been saved by our Pits. Once 3 men tried to attack my sister from 3 different angles and her Pit Leroy Brown kept all 3 men from getting to her, even though those men were hitting Leroy with chains, he still fought them off. Leroy as a pup saw a rattle snake coiled up ready to attack my sister, and Leroy was only 4 mo. old, he grabbed that snake by its head and beat its body on the groung until it laid lifeless. Leroy also protected our younger brother Mark, from being attacked by gang members, Mark popped Leroy off his chain so he would have the chain to fight with, and him an Leroy fought side by side, until the gang members ran away. Leroy's brother Boo-Boo, jumped out of a 2nd story window to protect my sister Gianna from a man trying to attack her outside of our home, our brother Mark jumped out after him too, that poor dude never stood a chance against mark & Boo. Boo-Boo also would alert us when my sister was having an asthma attack he would not leave her side he would lick her and push on her until she came to. Leroy and Boo alerted us of a smoldering fire under one of our couch cushions and they were only pups. Our Grandma was completely deaf and her Pit Anna would alert her to anything, our grandmother trained Anna to be her ears, Grandma would say the door Anna would shake no, then she would ask phone Anna would shake no, she would ask baby crying and Anna would bark, then Grandma would know we were up from our nap. Since our Grandma was deaf, our grandma taught my sister to grab the gun and bullets if she heard a noise when we were sleeping then to wake her so she would know immediately it was something serious. Well one night someone was trying to break in thru our back door, Anna jumped up onto the closet shelf and had the gun case in her mouth giving it to Grandma before my sister even had the chance to get out of bed. I can go on for hours telling you amazing stories on how this breed has truly won our hearts over. But most recently now that myself and my siblings are in our 30's, my sisters dog Chubby is no her "asthma dog" he will push on her chest like he was giving CPR, if she is laying on her stomach he flips her over to her back. Her dog Tig-Tig is the same way, and he can even say I love you, any time that little dude does something wrong he screams out R Ruv Vru, its the funniest thing, its like he is copping a plea.
We have been raised our entire lives around Pitbulls and never not once has any of our dogs ever attacked, mamed, or mauled anyone. when My sister was born our Dad had a litter of pups who were born a few weeks before my sister, she jokes she became part of their litter. The mom looked after all her kids my sister included. Pits have always been our protectors, our best friends, and our dearest family members. Our friends and other family members and neighbors were always welcomed and well loved by any and all our Pits.
Now that we are older are family no longer breeds Pits, other than for bloodline preservation, we take the best of the best and breed them once in their life time, we do not have public sale of the pups, but we do make trades with other breeders again strictly for bloodline preservation.
We currently do Pitbull Rescue in Chicago, and we have seen the worst of the worse, regarding the neglect & abuse these dogs face. It is heart wrenching to see how these gang members & drug dealers abuse these dogs.
I am not going to lie and say our family has never fought Pits, but you have to understand that pit fighting was not banned until the 70's, so whatever our father, grandfathers, great-great grandfathers did and so on , we as this generation can not be held accountable for. But they were true dogmen who fought by the rules, and only fought the best game fighters they had. But our generation abides by all laws and does not fight dogs. We were taught to respect these dogs and to honor their intelligence, strength, tenacity, and wisdom. Just as the many times they have protected us we are now protecting them. To me there is no dog greater, more loyal, more trusting, more intelligent, and more loving than the American Pitbull Terrier, and we will fight and defend their honor until the day we die, and our future generations will be raised to do them same, just as our parents taught us, we will teach them.
If a ban would come into to effect where we live, we will just simply move, like my sister said and I agree, "they will never take my dogs from me , they will have to pry them out of my cold dead arms, and I assure you even then I will still give them the fight of a lifetime" You cannot help but to worship the true born fighter, regardless if it comes in the form of a dog or in the form of your sister.
For the record myself, my brother, and my sister have been bite before by a German Shepherds, a Sheltie, a Beagle, a schnauzer, an American bulldog, but NEVER by a PITBULL!
And we have been around literally 100's of Pitbulls in our life time.
So PETA could how should I put it, go to HELL!
