The other day on Dateline "To Catch a Predator" they featured a rabbi.
I live in the US and I'm generally just exposed to US news so I don't see why I'd be seeing the same stories happening in other countries.

I think it shows just how much anti-Catholic bias is out there. In reality it shouldn't be happening at all no matter what religion anyone is. Children should be protected. The spotlight is always on the priests when an incident takes place, but you never hear of a protestant or other religious in the news. If only people would come off their religious bias and pray for those children that were hurt AND the men who committed those crimes so that EVERYONE can be HEALED.
God bless.

Each country has a government and each government has a responsibility to protect their citizens. If we see a problem in another country then it's up to the government and their own citizens to fix it.
Children are being abused everywhere. We shouldn't worry about which country has the most child abusers. We need to worry about how to stop it.
Besides, our media is not trying to protect any leaders. It's just that many Americans are only concerned about what is happening in America. So the media gives American citizens what they want. News of their own country.

I agree with you completely. In my small city, I know about a Baptist minister who molested the girls in the church and a Seventh Day Adventist minister who got his own daughter pregnant twice. The first time he made her have an abortion and the second time, she told me and she lived with us until the baby was born. He was prosecuted and it came out that there were many girls he had molested in his own family and the church family. That was 20 years ago and he is back pastoring a church in Missouri so if you know Jim Shipley, keep your little girls away from him. Men like that make me so angry as they hurt the children and hurt the reputation of Christians. They should be castrated. My nephew was raped at a catholic school by a coach but he hung out with the priests. Another kid was murdered and his body thrown in a creek. The priest from that parish was moved three days later with no prior warning to his congregation. The murder has never been solved. Good Luck and God Bless

I think it is a matter of desensitization. The media report on the things they think America wants to hear about. Frankly, most people, not all, but most people just turn a deaf ear if they hear something happened in a country other than their own. It is a sad fact but a true one. Personally, I think too little time is paid to actual crisis in our country as well as others and too much time paid to celebrities actions. Who cares about Paris Hiltons latest fad or panty shot when we have brothers, fathers, cousins, sisters, aunts, who are getting killed overseas in a war we didn't ask for? It is our country and we need to speak up. If we want to hear the REAL news, then we need to call or write the big news shows. You know, everyone tends to forget these children. It is up to us to be their voice. Thanks for the question.

You know the names of other priests from your own country & others as well, report to authorities. What has any other religion got to do with it? will it lessen your guilt consciousness?
