Well, from what I understand Jesus was a Rabbi since he was addressed as such. This presumably means he was well versed in the Talmud and techniques for debating its teachings. In effect, a form of rhetoric, in which Socrates will also have been experienced.

The difference it seems to me is that Jesus (and I'm talking about him as a man, not an omnipotent being) will have had a more limited knowledge of the wider world.

Socrates after all had been a soldier, had the advantage of living in an advanced (though declining) city state surrounded by other philosophers, and of course was equipped with his dialectic method of enquiry.

Apart from that that the oracle at Delphi said none was wiser than Socrates, though this may have been a riddle.

So on balance I think no, Socrates would be the winner.

Good grief. I could probably hold my own with Socrates.

...allow me to deviate from the question a moment...Are you involved in the Health care profession? Not a trick question..just would be interested in dialogue on a bilological related subject.

In my weak attempt at being funny, I have inadvertently, stolen the show from my Creator.
I believe that Jesus would not involve Himself in such an inconsequential challenge.Rather, He would meet the person at his/her need and speak
words of healing into their life.

hard to assert. Socrates replaced into virtually really an surely, traditionally verifiable individual, and Jesus ought to or gained't have existed. Giving the J guy the great thing about the doubt, i'd imagine it in all probability that Socrates ought to likely take the taco. i'm in person-friendly words permitting that Jesus ought to have existed as an surely individual, no longer that he replaced into the son of god, or something metaphysical.
