As soon as the kitten is born, the mother should immediately start cleaning the kitten. She should lick the kitten vigorously, remove him from the amniotic sac if it is still present, and chew the umbilical cord. She may even ingest the placenta. This is not necessary and, sometimes, can lead to vomiting and diarrhea. Prompt removal of the placentas can get them out of the way and help you keep track of how many placentas she has passed.

thats afterbirth ,and expect the cat to eat all the sacs born with the kittens ,although the bag would worry me there should be a kitten with it ,check that she isn't finding it hard to deliver any as a gentle pull of the kitten will help get it out .

When cats give birth, the kitten and the placenta (bag) usually come out at the same time and it is vital for the mother to eat it for nutrition. Didnt your vet tell you this?

Perfectly natural, don't worry.
Do you realize that for every 1 person born, there are 7 puppies and kittens
born? At best, 1 will find a forever home.
And don't forget, that every "Free-to-good-home" litter takes homes away
from animals already at the shelter.
STOP letting your pets; or your friends, relatives or co-workers pets
contribute to the problem.
If you love animals, it is NOT ENOUGH to merely say "My pets are fixed".
Vow to educate and enable others to fix their pets too.
Spaying just 1 female dog or cat, will prevent 6 others from ending up in a
shelter the following year.
Please be part of the solution, NOT the problem!
Thank you. ^..^

If a placenta has come out with no kitten attached thats not good. That means there is a baby inside with no oxygen. Get her to the vet, as kittens should come out first followed by their placenta.
Eating it is normal, thats not a concern, forget that. Worry about the kitten with no oxygen.

Sounds like she popped out the placenta and yes, cats do eat it. Relax. The kittens are on their way.
