I recently (jan 20th) had a c-section and afterwards a good portion of my stomach near the incision was numb. I know that part is normal, but recently the skin has been peeling, almost like it would after a sunburn. It doesn't itch, burn, or anything like that. I've tried so many different types of lotions, cocoa butter, etc. doesn't seem to be getting any better. I have a doctor appt in a few weeks, but was just curious if any one else experienced this after their c-section. thanks!

I had that happen in September. It was my only c-section out of 4 kids. If you're not itching or burning, then you're probably fine. The skin around the incision went through a lot of stress and the dead stuff is just going away.
Lotions and creams don't really soften, they just hold you body's own moisture in. Since dead skin has no moisture, you're not going to see improvement.

What you should do is use a fresh washcloth for the incision site only and rub gently around the area and on the peeling stuff. That will help remove it. Then after you get out of the shower, put lotion or perfume free baby oil on. Mineral oil and olive oil is good, too. Just rub it on and let it sit. You should start seeing an improvement soon. If you're very worried, talk to your gyno at the next visit.

I had a c-area with my first daughter 4 years in the past it replaced into no longer a vertical incision. I had my 2d daughter 3 weeks in the past or perhaps even if we had a agenda c-area for July 31 exertions got here on everybody and he or she replaced into born on July 20. i'd communicate along with your well being care service and he can grant you with the great suggestion yet my well being care service did tell me that replaced into the in person-friendly words strong element about having yet another c-area is that lets %. the day. I continuously concept that once you've a vertical incision than you should continuously must have a c-area. strong success !!
