Yeah, I went there a couple of times when I was a kid. The beach is pretty crap, but still fun, and you can go on donkey rides, so kids love that! They have a huge theme park, something you can all enjoy, you can see the Blackpool tower and there is a sea life centre. Lots of shops to buy presents and don't forget the stick of rock (a coloured candy stick that sometimes has writing on).
However, at night it can get abit rough, with lots of men dressing up as women as I can remember, so I think the hotel would be the best place to stay at night.

Hi there,
I do not mean to sound disrespectful but i would avoid blackpool at all costs. i went there last weekend and found it to be tacky, tatty and as really rough. The beach is sandy but that's the only positive thing i can say about it.
The prominade is awful! I went out of season so there was not much going on.
I would say blackppol is ok for a cheap, tacky weekend away with the girls or boys. The pubs and clubs were full of stag and hen parties. seems popular with that.
I would choose a haven holiday anywhere but blackpool!!!!

The only thing i did enjoy was the hotel and the 'funny girls' show

i remember going to blackpool for the day once when i was eight - i am now 25 - we went to a swimming centre called sandcastle - it had a wave pool - i remember blackpool illuminations and going past some sort ot fair with a rollercoaster and a ferris wheel. I remember blackpool rocks - sweets. I live in australia now but the place sticks out in my mind, so i would say that it is an excellent holiday destination for your children

Blackpool is not the place it used to be and is rather rough and ready. Maybe OK for a day trip but you will be glad to leave it behind at the end of the day. What about Morecambe ?

According to my mate who lives in the Blackpool area, it's quite safe for you and the kiddies. Like any town there are areas you don't go at night, but if you stick to the tourist areas you should be fine.

Depends on the age of the kids. If small they have a great beach but not much more. Teenagers will have a ball.
