Southern Baptists ARE Born-Again Christians...BUT not all Born-Again Christians are Southern Baptists. There are many Born-Again denominations. The ones Southern Baptists generally disagree with most are groups called "Charismatics" or some Pentecostal groups (not all) ..or groups that believe in "Full Gospel" or "The Five Fold Ministries." These groups believe that healing and profecy and speaking/praying in tongues is for today while most Southern Baptists believe these gifts have "passed away."

The most important thing regarding Christianity is that one believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, died on the cross for our sins and we must confess that to have "Jesus live in our heart." Believing this is the essense of Christianity ..then we move on to have a relationship with God.

Soutern-Baptists and Full Gospel Charismatics as long as they profess Jesus Christ and believe in the trinity, they are legitimate.

No group of humans will ever agree about ALL the logistics of translating the Bible. Love Jesus and love your neighbor as yourself and you'll be on the right road eternally.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him will not die but have everlasting life.."

For the most part they do. There are always going to be some in any group who feel the need to "defend" their church or organization against others. Usually it's an individual thing because of some issue that person needs to deal with. Besides, Southern Baptists know the way to God is through the acceptance of Jesus and they believe in being born again. They just have reservations about some of the gifts of the spirit.

I am a southern Baptist. I go to a southern Baptist church. We at the church get along with all christians. I myself only started there a few months ago as a born again christian and was received warmly and am now a member of the church. You cant judge one religion off one example sorry

Perhaps its because all of us are imperfect.

As Benjamin Franklin said, when you gather a bunch of people together to get the benefit of their wisdom, you also get their imperfections and their prejudices. From such a gathering, no perfect product can be expected.

Your question reminds me of the question that Chief Red Jacket asked a missionary trying to convert the tribe to Christianity back in the year 1805. The Chief's words to the missionary were:

"Brother, you say there is only one way to worship. If there is but one religion, why do you white people differ so much about it? Why not all agreed, as you can all read the same Book?"

Finally, and perhaps my favorite part, the Chief told the missionary:

"Brother, we are told that you have been preaching to the white people in this place. These white people are our neighbors. We will wait a little while and see what effect your preaching has upon them. If we find it makes them honest and less likely to cheat Indians, we will consider your religion."

Interesting!

Where there are clashing insights, there are 2 probabilities.

It's either one of them is right or both of them are wrong.

Rationale: Truths cannot be against with one another.
