My favourite sandwich is tuna mayo (or bacon, sweetcorn, chicken, mayo) and I'm worried that mayo is really bad. If this is the case. is low-fat mayo any good?
Or any alternatives.
Thanks.

I don't believe that mayonnaise is bad for you. I still really like mayo, but I used to slather it pieces of bread and eat it repeatedly just because I loved the taste. I wasn't any worse the wear for it. What is mayo made of - eggs, vegetable oil, vinegar, some lemon juice and some mustard - all healthy stuff. Of course if you see that you are putting on the pounds, then cut back on the amount of comfort foods you are eating. When I was gorging myself on mayo on bread I was running marathons, so it didn't affect my weight. Now, years later, I no longer have the mayo craze. I have replaced it with hummus which I make myself. It's supposed to be healthy and I love it.

Lo cal or non fat mayo is better than regular mayo. Regular mayo contains a lot of bad oils. Make sure that your mayo doesn't contain any Trans Fats.

Straight mayonnaise is terrible for you. TERRIBLE. I use lowfat Miracle Whip or Fat Free Mayo from Kraft. The Kraft Fat Free Mayo actually tastes like mayonnaise to me. But it's hard to find in my small-town grocery stores, so I usually end up buying the low-fat miracle whip, which is also good. (Do NOT buy Fat Free Miracle Whip. This is very different from Fat Free Mayo. Yuck.)

If you can't eat the mayo try dijonaise...or mustard w/ horseradish. Mayo light isn't bad either.

I think that it's okay when you don't load your sandwich down with mayo. But you should be fine, just don't pour it all over your sandwich...

well, no they are nearly just the same its just the low fat one has 1% lower so it really makes no difference. mayonnaise is really bad for the body since it contains a lot of fat and carbohydrates which is bad but i'm not sayng to forbid it! surely you can eat from time to time!
