Ride a horse? Sure! It allows the rider better access to the saddle bags, where the jerky and tobacky are kept, and of course the Winchester. That way the rider can shoot at the Injuns comin' up behind him AND have a snack. Makes no sense ter be lookin' forward when the enemy's crawlin' up yer tail.
