Well, first off there is patients.

Second, take really good care of your hair, if you want it to grow you may first need to get a trim to cut away the damaged hair.

Third, take your multivitamins. It will help make what hair you grow strong and cut down on breakage.

Fourth, get a natural hair bristle brush and be sure to brush out your hair each night. The natural hair will redistribute the oils on your scalp, reducing build-up and coating drier ends.

Hair only grows on average at about I believe 1/4 inch a month, women have a bonus though because our monthly friend also encourages hair grow. Just keep in mind, u wont really notice a drastic change right away, the important thing is to make sure the hair u do grow is healthy.

Well, I think patience is a key issue. But...when you go to the salon, be sure to tell them you're trying to grow it out, so they know only to trim off a small amount..a good stylist will listen to you. Also, midway between cuts, go for a deep conditioning treatment. This way, even though you only have a little bit trimmed, your hair will stay nice and healthy.

you could try vitamins, ones that contain Selenium are said to be good for your hair and promote healthy growth. if you get split ends tho, do have a trim as they will spread up and damage the length and cause breakage
