Ha-ha!
Well put, Ryan, but no, they wouldn't. They'd expect Sam Jackson, or something worse.

It's a problem that isn't new--There's a story that back in the Middle Ages, in a monastery yet, that during meals, scripture passages would be regularly read--- it so happens that the monks got so bored with the practice that they stopped listening all together. The Abbot finally stepped up to the reading platform, opened his Bible and said, "Now, brothers, I have a wonderful tale to tell you of the exploits of the brave and valiant KING ARTHUR!"---The dozing monks all snapped to attention, eager and excited. The Abbot then proceeded with the regular reading, without further comment.
People remain pretty much the same down through the centuries, no?

The Bible could be subtitled; 'Knowledge Before Judgment.'

Noah's flood could be called; Flood number 2.

2Peter3:5. In the flood of Noah's day, there were no heavens/governments destroyed.

Genesis 1:2 ..and there was darkness upon the surface of the watery deep...

No, as long as these stories are part of the bible, people are ready to accept them, but they can not compete with contemporary literature, which is what will happen of you try to market them the way you suggested.
"Harry Potter" will win over any 3000 years old legend.

More people are reading the Bible - the skeptics, an atheist, a Muslims, a Buddhists etc, they all read the Bible.

I think if it were updated and put into a reference that people could actually understand like modern day, more people would realize it was complete bullshit.

No then the bible would become a joke. The bible is 100% true but if you add that kind of nonsense what would it make it?
