Some people are gay, whether your support them being monogomous or not. So why do you fight against monogamy by fighting marriage? Would you prefer they slept around more?
And if you think marriage was invented by your religion, it may interest you to know that the Ancient Greeks married, 400 B.C.E.

My position on this is that gay people live together as committed couples all the time. Gay people are hurting NO ONE by doing this. What difference would it make if they got married? It wouldn't make any difference. Essentially, it would be the same thing, except their tax situation would change. Big deal.

Neither. One must encourage celibacy outside of marriage, whether one is gay or straight. Marriage is the ony acceptable relationship in which sexual relations can be expressed. Gay marriage is a contradiction in terms, as marriage is a union of a man and woman. It was the same in Greece in 400 BCE as it is today.

i think "we" should mind our own business. it's stupid and controling to pretend as a nation that these laws against gay marriage and adoption are anything other than blantant proof of the line between church and state not only being crossed but damn near erased completely. i am all for gay marriage - it would provide loving 2 parent family structures in many cases where children have no biological family willing or able to care for them. (i agree with the point you are trying to prove, but that line of thinking about monogomy still shows a willingness to accept the legal - and moral - judgement of the religious right in the lives of others.)

edit: as long as the fundies know we are not willing to stand up to them without their approval, they will continue to have the upper hand.

If humanity wants to take a step in the right direction, they should allow gay marriage. I'm not gay but I don't see why people make such a big deal over it.
