Firstly, dont panic! yes a deep dark brown dye would cover it and will do no harm to yr mothers hair.Use a permanant dye or semi, the wash in n out wont work.Wot colour was she actually trying to create? A black hair dye will do to but if she very paled skinned i wdnt rec that, u cd probably even try a mid light brown. I would recommend using a cheap 'fruity' shampoo and conditioner to try to wash the colour out , u know the type that are 'strawberry' or 'raspberry' smellin and cost bout a quid or less as i can tell u from personal experience they strip the colour out very quickly ,especially if u wash hair bout 5 or 6 times in one go, and condition with same brand! tell yr mum, dont panic , it is easily resolved,im sure it will be fine for tuesday.
Tell yr mum ,hope all goes okay on day an 'deepest condolences' to her an all involved with funeral, take care xpinkiex

Yes, dark brown or black would cover it. Don't make the mistake of buying another colour with a tint - make it plain brown or black. There may still be some hints of the purple under the colour but overall it would be covered.
As the colour fades the purple may become more obvious but it will certainly help in the short term.

Hi PE,
I am no hair expert, but..
Having coloured my dark brown crown bright red, with gold streaks for my sons' children party, the red bit washed out, to be left with peroxided blonde bits.
Not to be washed away, then.
Oh a good dose of dark brown stuff in a box from Boots seemed to put it OK for what was my Dads' funeral that week.
I don't think he would of been best pleased with the funny bits, although probably would of grinned.
We were best mates !
In hippy days, it was purple for a trip to Glastonbury.
Oh dear. It grew it out back to my usual brown.
Careful with the potions, then, but fundamentally it seems that you can put it into back into any colour using a decent box full of instructions, without it all falling out !
All the best,
Bob

I recommend going to a salon and saying whats up look i did this would you fix it? im beneficial that a experienced perfessional can arise with some thing even though it wont be inexpensive black hair is many times the main difficult interior the loss of life technique. or you could only journey it out, they mean that it incredibly is sweet for twenty-four days i.e you wash yout hair as quickly as an afternoon, and that i think of that once it fades out you will get that deep brown you have been speaking approximately. I say save your cash and carry your breath.

Get a darker, wash-out type color to put over it. But I wouldn't use 2 permanent colors within a couple of days.
It sounds like she got one of those stupid red hair dyes that isn't really red at all, but weird.
Later on she can try something else for permanent color.

to color hair dark brown, for just one event.it seems harsh,
because she Will be stuck with the dark brown for at least a year. have her wear a hat or use a tempera color. god luck.
