You are totally right! My boyfriend is sooo sensitive and he drives me crazy. He does the typical things that would be cool in a romantic movie (takes me to a picnic at night with some wine and gives me flowers and all that), but not in real life, and not for me. I want a man who is masculine, and not girlish...And I know I should appreciate this, but I'm weird then because I can't appreciate it. I don't want to see him cry all the time and be upset not knowing what to do. It's just not how I picture a 'man'.
You're normal, because I'm like that too! Or maybe we're both not normal!

being romantic during private time is nice ^^, but being romantic in the public isn't. Being too romantic all the time can be irritating. But having a romantic bf/gf is definitely much better than having one that doesn't care at all.

It's happened to me in the past. It's a personality difference.
There is the possibility he is submissive, but there is also the possibility he is a control freak in disguise.
Just set some boundaries, tell him what you do and don't like. If he doesn't respect the boundaries, tell him you are dissappointed he forgot what you said.

yes, i would hate that.
a sappy man is a crappy man.. and i'm a poet and didn' t know it...LOL
yeah, i mean i like a guy being sweet to me. but i'm more of a giving person, and if he gives too much it irritates me..
the last guy i was with it was all about him, and i resented him for it..
but picking me a flower out of my yard, or something sweet like that once in a while is the sweetest thing a guy could do for me.. i require attention..... but not smothered.

just tell him specifically what you need
it may hurt his ego a bit
i am sure you will find some clever womenly way to lead him back to his bloody manhood!

I hate it when anybody's romantic. It's an outdated quality that has little relevance today.
