Microwave is the best about 3.5 minutes for the whole bird and use the onion and sage but cut the onion up into fine little pieces. Be careful when its hot I got burnt by the exploding eye balls once.

foolish boy... budgies are weighed in grammes, by order of the EU, and i find 15 seconds per gramme, on full power in a 750watt microwave does them nicely.
as for stuffing... sage wild fennel and cranberry, or for something really different, stuff the bird with haggis... ( if it shrinks in the wave, then lay the bird on a bed of wild haggis, surrounded by teh stuffing and mash... bon appetite...
the vegetarian wife adds... next time feed the bird on cranberrys before you wring its neck...

Stuff the budgie's butt with unpopped popcorn and place in a hot oven. When the door blows off the oven and popcorn goes all over the kitchen, your budgie is done. ;)

It would take you longer to heat the oven up than it would to cook it, Just zap it in the microwave for 3 mins.
